DU 2000 & Beyond

du_2000_logoAs members of Delta Upsilon, we have seen many changes since 1973. Some Brothers may recall our early days at 526 N. Lafayette. As the dream of Delta Upsilon grew, so has our membership and the need for a bigger house. Today that aspiration continues in our chapter house located at 620 W. Elting.

In 1998, Brother Robb Kellermann '98 and Brother Tim Ceko '02 began development of an Alumni and Undergraduate giving program known as DU 2000 & Beyond. Originally, the program was very short sighted and planned for only the immediate future. Today, nearly 10 years later, the needs of the Undergraduate Chapter as well as the needs and position of the Alumni Corporation and Alumni Chapter have changed dramatically.

In April of 2007, the DU 2000 & Beyond program is finally being implemented as both a short term and long term solution to the financial stability and success of our chapter.

The DU 2000 & Beyond program has only one purpose:
To create financial stability for the
Alumni Chapter, Alumni Corporation and Undergraduate Chapter
of Delta Upsilon at Western Illinois University.

It is our belief that having this program in place, we will be able to accomplish the following goals (in no particular order) that many of us have discussed as a wish list over the years:

  • To improve Alumni and Undergraduate communications
  • To assist in the rising costs of recruitment/rush
  • To assist in the rising costs of maintenance of both the internal and external structure of our chapter house and property
  • To ensure that current scholarship programs remain funded
  • To set up and consistently fund new scholarship programs
  • To create an emergency savings account
  • To improve Alumni Programming
  • To better all aspects of the Delta Upsilon Western Illinois Chapter
